Amy Smart, an American model and actress from the United States. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modelling profession in Italy. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in the TV production Her Costly Affair. It was a struggle to land an appearance in Starship Troopers. The transition was difficult for Amy because she had transition from modelling to the acting profession. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy never gave up. Her first big role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In 2005, she was cast part in the leading role of the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major commercial success, and Amy was finally able to get the fame she had been striving for for over a decade. She then went on to work in some of the biggest films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played a recognizable character.
