April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US She is one of a small group of women who have had medals won in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join her in Tokyo. Ross wants to achieve more than her first Olympic medal. It could be the last time she has the chance as she is 39 years old. She is still confident, however. Ross on NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well they can earn a gold. Then I will also take the opportunity to try my chance. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in 1982. Her parents as well as her sister resided in the area. Along with playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. She stood out however during this game. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter, middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. She was named one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her due to her volleyball skills. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles since 2017. However, Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit prior to the pair. She actually won multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. among them a volleyball icon. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be a formidable force in the international circuit, winning the 2009 World Championship together. The duo would go on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. Together, they won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC after her high school days. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross went to the sand and turned professional. Her career was a success through the NCAA tournament. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans get to into the Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her sophomore year. However, she was able to make it an All-American in her second year. During her final two seasons with the Trojans team, she led them to victories by winning successive national titles. As an individual, she cemented her place as a legend by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the best female volleyball players at colleges across the country. Ross who was an USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter grow into an international beach volleyball star. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Her mother is still close to her heart. Margie, on the beach as well as in everyday life, continues to inspire her.
