April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among only a handful of female beach volleyball players that have achieved this feat. In Tokyo over the next several days she will attempt to win her third gold medal alongside first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross wants to achieve more than her first Olympic medal. There is a chance that this is her only chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Nevertheless, she remains certain of taking top honors. Ross on NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of good luck. Ross was born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing the sports of Newport Harbor High school. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several sports. Along with the indoor game, she also played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court during her senior year at high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player 1999. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may have started working together in the year 2017, however Ross was an experienced volleyball player before they teamed up. She has won major tournaments twice with different partners. The other has become an icon of the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to the year 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships in 2009. The duo would go through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took them out to win the gold medal. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. Together, they won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross started her college professional career playing for the Trojans of USC following high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross hit the beach and became a pro. The time she spent in the Trojans' ranks was one to remember. In her first year at the school, 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to reach the Final Four with her help. The second season of her career she was devastated by a personal tragedy, but earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over the course of the two years she played for the Trojans they helped win consecutive championships. Ross was an excellent player on the court, and was awarded the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see her daughter become the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie at the beach and in daily life, inspires her.
