Her sister is Alya Tweto. Her parents met her while she was a hockey player in Alaska in an effort to make players interested in the game. Her father was in love with her and married her mother. They later started their own Era Alaska aviation company. Ariel and Alya both grew-up in Nome Census, The state of Alaska. Ariel went to Emerson College while Alya obtained a diploma in communication in communications from Chapman University. Ariel was able to begin her acting career at an early age. The role she played was in Wipeout. Ariel became famous for an episode in which she questioned a poster she could not see but was right in her face. The interest of the public in the young woman inspired the producers to reach out to the Tweto family to discuss an actual series about their life in Alaskan wilderness. Jim Tweto, her father, is sceptical but agrees to let the cameras roll inside his office. Era Alaska is still run by him in his capacity as a Bush pilot. Flying Wild Alaska, a reality-based series that airs broadcast on Discovery Channel, was a massive success because it revealed the difficulties the Twetos face when running their aviation business. It is thrilling to see Americans living in a wilderness-like setting. With nature's brutality the fans are able to sympathize with and celebrate along with Twetos who win. Jim's wife Ferno manages things on ground while Jim sits at the bushpilot's chair. Ariel enjoys a positive attitude when it comes to all of this. Following the retirement of her father, Ariel takes on the management of the family aviation business. Alaskans have plenty of anxiety about the suicide rate for teenagers as they have a seven-fold higher rate than the their national average. Ariel became inspired by this to create a charity, Popping Bubbles. In this charity, she goes to school and youth groups to tell them the importance of being able to have dreams and live fully and not give into depression.
